Rebecca L Hart, EA - Rebecca graduated summa cum laude from DeVry University in 1999 with a B.S. in Accounting. Rebecca worked in various capacities in the Accounting field prior to her decision to become an Enrolled Agent. You may be asking, "What is an Enrolled Agent?" An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals. Although the title may be confusing, Enrolled Agents work for their clients, not the IRS!
Rebecca is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. This organization provides valuable education and resources relating to the tax preparation field, including annual conferences and continuing professional education (CPE).
Only by staying abreast of the ever-changing tax laws can a tax preparer be an effective service provider. Enrolled Agents are required to complete 72 hours of continuing professional education in the field of taxation every three years.
